Roland Dumlao
At a young age, Head Instructor/Owner Roland Dumlao began studying Tae Kwon Do under the guidance of Sa Bah Nim Ron Rinker, who studied under the tutelage of Master William Kim (a student of Grandmaster Hae Yun Kim). After spending seven years in the Tae Kwon Do system, Mr. Dumlao then shifted to the Martial Arts style of Armas De Mano.Under the tutelage of Master Nestor Ylagan and Head Instructor Robert DeSimoni, Mr. Dumlao would go on to receive his black belt at the age of 19. Master Ylagan studied Shotokan and Arnis under Grandmaster Villenueva before coming to the United States in 1969. He then furthered his Arnis knowledge under Grandmaster Presas in the Philippines. Mr. Dumlao holds an A.A. degree in Liberal Studies and is a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. He has been working with kids since the age of 15. He has taught karate for more than ten years and worked as a mentor at several after school programs. Some of his accomplishments include running his own summer program and competing in national level sport karate tournaments. He has trained and molded dozens of #1 rated sport karate sparring divisional champions and grand champions since 1999. In 2003, under the rigorous training of Instructor Ernest Frohm, Mr. Dumlao received his 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Karate from Master Daythan Taylor. Roland is also one of our Brown Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coaches for the Adult BJJ and Youth BJJ classes at Dumlao's Academy.
Renee Dumlao

Renee (Co-owner and Office Manager) is one of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coaches for the Adult, Youth & Women's Jiu-Jitsu class at DA. She advocates for Women in Jiu-Jitsu and started DA's Women Only BJJ class in 2012. She started studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2008 and brought on the BJJ program to DA in 2009, along with her husband Roland Dumlao and her Coach, Cameron King (Black Belt, under Cesar Gracie). She has been a student of and currently trains under Black Belt, Bryant Pangelinan (Owner and Head Instructor at Sabre Jiu-Jitsu in Concord, CA). Renee earned her Purple and Brown Belt from Mr. Pangelinan. She most notably earned her BJJ Black Belt from Mr. Pangelinan in September 2022. She is Dumlao's Academy's very FIRST Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.

Lando Dumlao
Mr. Lando Dumlao is the adult karate and kata competition coach at Dumlao's Karate. He has trained many sport karate kata champions in the local and national tournament circuit since 1999. He received his martial arts and kata training from Master Nestor Ylagan. His teaching experience includes instruction in adult karate, Arnis, and Kuboton self defense seminars. Learn Adult self-defense and experience a whole different aspect of martial arts.

Sean Dumlao
Mr. Sean Dumlao has more than 25 years teaching experience in the Martial Arts. He studied Tae Kwon Do under Sa Bah Nim Ron Rinker and Armas De Mano under Master Nestor Ylagan. For six years he obtained sparring training from Instructor Jesse Folks. He specializes in youth sparring. At Dumlao's he instructs Youth and Adult Sparring Classes as well as the lead in our Cardio Karate Program.
Coach Bryant Pangelinan

Bryant
was born in Germany, while his father was in the military. His family
originates from the island of Guam. Having lived and traveled all over
the world, his family settled in the East Bay of Northern California.
Bryant attended De La Salle high school and wrestled
for the Spartans. He later finished college at Saint Mary's in Moraga,
and began his JiuJitsu journey in 2003. He pursued a career in Law
Enforcement and served as a patrol officer and also a Recruit Training
Officer.
Bryant was awarded his Blackbelt in 2012. He followed
his dream of opening an academy, and in 2014, Sabre JiuJitsu was
established. A year after opening the academy, he was awarded his First
Degree by Carlos Sapao in 2015.

Greg Pearson
Mr. Pearson brings over 30 years of combined boxing and martial arts experience to the Dumlao's Martial Arts Team of Instructors. Mr. Pearson started boxing in 1977 in Vallejo, CA under the tutelage of championship boxing coach, Skip L'Esperance. He got his first exposure to the national scene in 1978 by competing in the Junior Olympics, has won several amateur titles and represented the U.S. in 1983. Mr. Pearson turned pro in 1987, turning in an 8 and 0 record, with 6 wins coming by way of KO. In 1988, while living in Germany, he turned his attention to the increasingly popular fighting style of Muay Thai Kick Boxing. All the while maintaining a strong footing in Boxing, becoming the Army Boxing Coach for the 11 th ACR in Fulda, Germany. In 1991, Mr. Pearson received the honor of “Coach of the Year” for his efforts in coaching 7 boxers to the IV Corps Boxing Championship in Frankfurt, Germany. He is a sought-after trainer to pro camps and striking coach for several top MMA and Muay Thai fighters. He is a certified master fitness instructor, certified Muay Thai instructor, certified self-defense and defensive tactics instructor and a USA certified boxing coach. Mr. Pearson teaches the Fighter Conditioning Class (FCC) along with Mr. Roland Dumlao at Dumlao's.

Jason Albini
Jason Albini has been in the martial arts since the age of 7 and began teaching in 2010. One of the major philosophies Jason lives by is that success is not to be pursued, it's to be attracted by the person we become. With that, he strives to help kids, teens, and adults live in fulfillment, prosperity, and achieve their goals by becoming great human beings at Dumlao's Martial Arts and in their everyday life.
